MNR had to do a burn-out in order to save the town
2007 Fire Season
The 2007 Fire Season began April 1st, MNR is anticipating a busy spring as most of the region began in with a precipitation deficit in area forests and lakes. Recent rain has done nothing to dampen the underlying drought conditions from last fall. Residents are reminded there is no day burning as of April 1st from two hours after sunrise until two hours before sunset except for cooking and warmth.
Unseasonably warm spring weather and drought conditions have created extreme fire conditions in northern Minnesota and Northwestern Ontario.
This page is made availabe to help local and visitors to the area with up todate information of the Fire Conditions.
